We’ve partnered with DIY, reno and storage queen, Cherie Barber on her new show, Tiny Home, as she renovates an 18 square metre (yep, we said 18) home.
At first thought, the idea of fitting all your belongings comfortably into a mere 18 square metre home may seem near impossible, although Cherie proves that with some clever storage solutions, it’s completely achievable whilst keeping things tidy and functional. Keep reading to find out how she tackled each area.
Starting with a pretty bare canvas, Cherie worked her magic to create a functional kitchen with bench and cupboard space – she even managed to fit in a narrow pantry. With consideration for the future homeowner, Cherie shows us how a versatile storage solution is necessary here to make the most of every corner of each cupboard. Our Stackable Organisers proved to be the perfect option, with loads of different ways to stack them up, you can utilise vertical space in the pantry and cupboards.
Choose between our clear organisers to see what you have on hand at a glance, or go for stylish white if you prefer a cleaner look.
Cherie understands the amount of clutter that can accumulate in the living room – board games, electronics, random cables and chargers, the list goes on. Rather than playing tetris trying to stuff everything into the cupboards with no order, Cherie suggests using our stylish Modular Containers to categorise these belongings. Using a range of both small and large sizes, Cherie found a customised solution that accounted for every inch of free space. Our compatiable Insert Trays make for a helpful addition too, allowing you to organise those smaller items that tend to get lost at the bottom of containers.
Onto the bathroom, Cherie relied on our nifty Stackable Organisers to make the most of this small space. Pair our 0.8L, 3.5L and 8.5L organisers to tackle the overhead cabinet space. Super slimline, these organisers will slot in your shaving cabinet, hiding your mouthwash, skincare and spare toilet rolls.
These neat organisers can also be used to tackle the under sink storage. With so many stacking options available you can find one that dodges those pesky plumbing fixtures.
Being the storage extraordinaire she is, Cherie looked beyond the Tiny Home and helped her tradies manage their on-site storage too. With the help of our Heavy Duty Containers, the team kept their tools protected and in great knick. Productivity was at an all time high with the team logging their tools in our Organise by Inabox app, meaning they could find what they needed easily by searching on the app.
We can safely say that no matter how big or tiny your home is, with some smart storage choices you can create an organised and functional home. Check out Cherie Barber’s Tiny Home Reno on 9Now, or see what Cherie’s up to next at renovating for profit.
